This oil-painting workshop will be all about COLOR.Work from life to discover the many ways in which color has a relationship to form, and how it can be developed to look alive, with a clear focus on movement. Further your understanding of color through the observation of light and shadow, warm and cool tones.First, the live model will be placed under a warm light so as to expose all elements of color in the flesh under that light. Then, with a cool light on the model, all the differences in color on the flesh will be revealed, so we can paint it just so.Throughout the workshop we will discuss materials, craft, issues of light & shadow, form and movement, the reflective properties of flesh, and numerous other aspects of painting. The key elements of drawing, tone, value and color with a unified direct application of paint will be fully explored. Lectures, demonstrations and critiques are par for the course.Fee: $685 plus model share
