Description
Fridays AM, 9:30-12:30
Date: October 11, 18, 25
Want to draw the figure well? Working from a live model, we will stress short poses to give students a solid foundation in how to begin, plan and execute the ideal figure. Students will strengthen their ability to quickly capture the relationships of the pose, train the eye to simplify the information, learn to build volume with basic shapes, and hone troubling skill sets with a special focus each week (such as foreshortening, anatomical landmarks, how overlap creates volume, how to study, and much more).
Students will immerse themselves in important fundamentals of construction, anatomy, shapes, values, forms and edges in both drawing and painting. Intermittent full length demonstrations by Charles Miano will be a part of the course.
Fridays PM, 1:00-3:30
Date: October 11, 18, 25
Looking to master figure drawing? This class will feature a single, long pose project continuing until the end of the year. In each session, we will work from a live model with extended poses to help students develop a deep understanding of the figure. While foundational short poses will also be practiced, the emphasis is on building and refining your drawing over time. Each week will include a special focus, such as foreshortening, anatomical landmarks, and how to create volume using basic shapes.
Students will immerse themselves in important fundamentals of construction, anatomy, shapes, values, forms and edges in both drawing and painting. Intermittent full length demonstrations by Charles Miano will be a part of the course.
